15 idols desecrated in Manikganj

A group of unidentified miscreants have desecrated 15 idols in two temples located in Manikganj’s Singair upazila. Singair police station officer-in-charge (OC) Khandakar Imam said the incident took place early Tuesday in Sholai Bangla village. An investigation team reached the spot and collected evidence, the OC added. The temples managing committee General Secretary Santosh Rajbongsh said the locals noticed the broken idols scattered all around the temple premises and informed the temple authorities. The committee workers said the idols were desecrated  due to a dispute regarding a land occupied by the temple authorities. OC Khandakar added: “We are investigation the matter, the criminals will soon be caught.”
