In SylhetOur correspondent said the National Vitamin A+ Campaign began in the city and 12 upazilas of the district in the morning.
Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) and Civil Surgeon Office launched the campaign setting target to administer vitamin A+ capsules to more than 5 lakh children under five years of age.
The campaign began around 8am in 99 centres. A total of 2,563 outreach vaccination centres were set up by Sylhet Civil Surgeon office.
Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) set up 90 centres including 120 permanent ones in its all 30 wards to carry out the programme.
Over 3,220 supervisors in the 13 upazilas of the district would supervise the A+ campaign at their respective jurisdictions in the Sylhet city and district.
A total of 2,563 vaccination centres will be set up by Sylhet Civil Surgeon office.
Besides 8660 volunteers and health workers in 13 upazilas in the district will carry out the drive in next four days from July 16 as a follow up programme through visiting doorsteps of the households to cover up dropped out children, civil surgeon office sources said.
SCC sources said several mobile teams consisting of 278 members in Sylhet city and 899 members in the district have been engaged to feed oral vaccines to the children at rail, bus and steamer stations as well as other places.In BarisalThe campaign began in several areas including Mehediganj, Muladi and Hizla upazilas of the district in the morning, reports our correspondent.
A+ campaign was inaugurated around 9am at Dakkin Alekandar Jumir Khan Road in the city.
More than 3.50 lakh children under five years of age will be administered vitamin A+ capsules under the campaign.

A campaign was held in the morning around 8am at Sadar upazila health complex. Magistrate Anwar Imam inaugurated the function where among others Civil Surgeon Dr Abdul Rashid, Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahmed, Dr Abdul Majid and Health Officer Abdul Kadir were present.

The campaign began around 8am in 2,240 centres. A total of 1,744 outreach vaccination centres were set up by Rajshahi Civil Surgeon office.
Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) set up 384 centres in 30 wards to carry out the programme.
Over 1,152 volunteers and health workers of RCC were engaged for giving vitamin A+ capsules to the children aged from zero to 5 years in the city corporation areas, reports BSS.
Besides, 5,486 volunteers and 622 health workers and family welfare assistants are carrying out the works in nine upazilas of the district.
RCC Acting Mayor Nizamul Azim launched the campaign through administering capsule to a baby in city bhaban premises. RCC Ward Councilor Nazma Begum and Chief Health Officer Dr Anzuman Ara Begum and Divisional Coordinator of World Health Organization Dr Md Kamruzzaman were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Divisional Director of Health Dr Ashish Kumar Shaha and Civil Surgeon Dr Ferdous Nilufar inaugurated the district level campaign at Premtali area under Godagari upazila.
