Jama'atul Ansar ameer, 2 other militants remanded

  • Police produced them in court with 10-day remand prayer

A Munshiganj court on Wednesday placed three people, including the ameer of the new armed militant group Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya, on a five-day remand in a case filed in connection with their arrest with firearms.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Naznin Akhter of the Third District Cognizance Court passed the order when police produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each. 

Saiful Islam, an inspector of Louhajong police station, produced the arrestees to the court. 

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the three members of Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya in Munshiganj's Louhajong in an early morning raid on Monday.

During this time, local and foreign firearms, bomb-making equipment, extremist pamphlets and cash were seized from their possession.

Later, a case was filed at the police station.
