A Dhaka court has placed the former vice-chancellor of Stamford University, MA Hannan Feroz, on a six-day remand for his alleged involvement with the attack on former BCL leader Enamul Haque Shameem.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque has passed the order after the newly appointed Investigation Officer of the case DB Inspector Shamsuddin Saleh Ahmed Chowdhury produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.
A team of Detective Branch of Police has arrested him from his residence in the capital's Dhanmondi area early Wednesday.
Court GRO Md Mohidul Islam said: “Acting on the information given by the other accused, the DB police have arrested Hannan.”
On July 8, RAB members detained four persons for their alleged involvement in the attack on former president of Chhatra League AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem.
On June 19, Shameem was on his way to his Stamford University office when he was attacked. He was sitting beside the driver and his uncle Nasir Ahmed was in the back of the car.
Two bullets broke through the glass of the vehicle and hit Shameem in his hand but he survived.
