Wahiduzzaman Salim, who was sentenced to death in the sensational Narayanganj seven-murder case last month, has surrendered before a Narayanganj court.
District and Sessions Judge of Narayanganj Syed Enayet Hossain sent him to jail after he surrendered at 2pm Tuesday.
Additional public prosecutor Wazed Ali Khokon confirmed it to the Dhaka Tribune.
Salim was the close aide of local Awami League leader and city councillor Nur Hossain, the prime accused of Narayanganj seven-murder case.
On January 16, a Narayanganj court sentenced local Awami League leader and city councillor Nur Hossain, sacked commanding officer of RAB 11 Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, sacked Maj Arif and 23 others to death for the politically-motivated killings of seven people in 2014.
Among the death row convicts, nine were at large.
Later, Magura police detained one of them- sergeant Enamul Kabir- on February 5 and former army soldier Abdul Alim surrendered before a court on February 12.
On February 8, the High Court accepted appeals filed by 16 death-row convicts against their sentences.
The appellants are Nur Hossain, Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, sacked Lt Commander Masud Rana, sacked Maj Arif Hossain, sacked havilder Emdadul Haque, sacked Hiru Mia, sacked lance nayek Belal Hossain, sacked sepoy Abu Taiyeb, sacked constable Shihab Uddin, sacked ASI Purnendu Bala, sacked sepoy Asaduzzaman Nur, and Nur Hossain’s aides — Mortuja Jaman Charchil, Ali Mohammad, Mizanur Rahman Dipu, Abul Bashar and Rohom Ali.
