Eleven more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 48-hour reporting period ending at 8:00am Wednesday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 1,076, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS classified all 11 deaths as suspected measles fatalities.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 975, while confirmed deaths remain at 101 as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Of the 11 newly reported suspected deaths, 6 were recorded in Dhaka.
A total of 1,157 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 48 hours to Wednesday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 183,449.
During the same period, 113 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 20,851.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 162,048 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country. Of them, 155,612 have recovered and been discharged, according to the DGHS.
The health directorate said 4 of the deaths occurred on September 21 but were included in Wednesday's tally due to delays in receiving the information.
