Three more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Saturday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 840.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all three of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 744, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 96, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The three new suspected fatalities occurred in Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Rangpur, with one death reported in each of these respective districts and divisions.
A total of 751 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Saturday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 129,061.
During the same period, 121 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 16,180.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 111,674 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 107,397 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
