Health Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has said his first goal is to spread healthcare throughout the rural areas of Bangladesh.
“I aim to make every health complex or district-level hospitalself-sufficient. Then the patients will not flock to Dhaka or Chittagong for treatment,” the health minister said to the media after visiting Kumudini Hospital on Monday morning.
The minister also emphasized the prime minister’s zero tolerance towards medical negligence and irregularities so that no patient is subjected to wrong treatment by doctors.
Regarding the shortage of doctors in rural areas, the health minister said he is working towards providing adequate protection to physicians in rural areas.
