Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Saturday said that vaccines will be a “vital tool” in the global fight against the coronavirus, but it will not end the Covid-19 pandemic on its own.
"We have to maintain social distancing and follow the health guidelines strictly," he said.
The health minister said this as the chief guest on the occasion of displaying the animal resource on the Garpara High School playground under the auspices of the Animal Resource Department.
The minister urged the people to work unitedly to control and prevent Covid-19, adding that the health and others related sectors are working to control the Covid-19 transmission under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said the financial condition of our country is better than many other countries in the world adding that our GDP is still 6%.
The function was addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous, District Animal Resource Officer Mahbubul Islam and Manikganj sadar upazila Awami League General Secretary Afsar uddin Sarker with Mohammad Iqbal Hossain in the chair.
