Sinovac Foundation, a subsidiary of Chinese vaccine manufacturer Sinovac Biotech Limited, has donated 383,000 doses of polio vaccine to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The foundation said the donation was aimed at making the Bangladesh government’s ongoing Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) activities faster, more dynamic and effective, according to a press release.
The vaccines were handed over at a ceremony at the ministry conference room in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday morning.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka Li Shaopeng and Sinovac Biotech Limited Chief Business Director Li Ning were present.
