The health authorities in Bangladesh have inoculated 78,330 more people against the contagious Covid-19 disease, taking the tally of those taking the first jab to 4,990,232 since January 27.
As many as 43,995 men and 34,335 women were administered their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The number of vaccine recipients in the country has been fluctuating for the last few days. The figure in the past three days was 70,933; 80,222 and 72,923, respectively.

Of those inoculated so far, 3,124,728 were men and 1,865,504 were women.
Only three of Tuesday’s vaccine shot recipients reported mild side effects, as compared to eleven people experiencing the same on Monday. Till date, some 920 people have had side effects after being given the first shot of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, no fewer than 6,378,627 people registered online till 5:30pm on Tuesday for the nationwide vaccination campaign that started on February 7. Previously, the government launched the immunization drive on January 27.
