Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that the age limit set for the Covid-19 vaccine will be revised once more jabs are available.
He revealed the information after a meeting on the country’s ongoing Covid-19 vaccination efforts at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday.
He also said that the government will continue the first phase of the vaccination campaign until June-July, reports the media.
As per the National Covid-19 Vaccine Deployment Plan, a total of 15 million people will be immunized in the first phase.
Maleque said that Bangladesh will get around 19 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, 40 million in total, under the Covax facility by May, 2021.
The health minister also told the media that teachers and students will get vaccinated soon as the government plans to reopen educational institutions in the next few months.
