Bangladesh has received a 3rd batch of medical assistance from India, in the form of 30,000 Covid-19 test kits, in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
This aid was sent as part of India's commitment to help South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations fight against the novel coronavirus through an emergency fund.
High Commissioner of India, Smt. Riva Ganguly Das handed over the kits to Foreign Minister Dr.AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday.
The kits are a welcome gesture of goodwill from the neighboring country at a time of crisis.
Earlier, the first batch of emergency medical assistance, containing 30,000 surgical masks and 15,000 head-covers, were handed over to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on March 25.
Bangladesh received the second batch of medical aid from India, including 100,000 hydroxychloroquine tablets and 50,000 sterile surgical latex gloves on April 26.
Coronavirus has so far infected 11,719 people and killed 186 people in Bangladesh, according to official reports.
Globally the virus has infected 3,742,585 people and killed 258,840 people thus far.
