A total of 150 people tested positive for the new coronavirus (Covid-19) among 160 samples tested in the past 24 hours in Narayanganj, according to the district health department.
This is the highest number of confirmed cases in a single day since the first case of Covid-19 in Bangladesh.
According to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) report, a total of 849 people were diagnosed with the Covid-19 as of Tuesday afternoon in Narayanganj. Among them, 39 died while 25 recovered.
However, on Tuesday morning, sources from the district civil surgeon office reported deaths of 42 people from Covid-19 in Narayanganj. Samples of 2,423 people were tested until Tuesday in the district.
Meanwhile, 17 members of a family–aged between 14 to 74– tested positive for the virus on Tuesday, who had not showed any symptoms, said sources from the district health department.
