166 more Bangladesh nationals including five children have returned home from India amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A special US-Bangla Airlines flight from Chennai, capital of Tamil Nadu, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:48pm Saturday.
Md Kamrul Islam, general manager (public relations) of US-Bangla Airlines confirmed the matter.
A total of 835 Bangladeshi nationals returned home from Chennai since April 20.
On Friday, 328 Bangladesh nationals returned from India on Friday on two separate flights from Chennai and New Delhi, respectively.
Thousands of Bangladeshi nationals, most of whom travelled to India for medical reasons, have been stranded across various parts of the country.
Airport health centre sources said most of the returnees went through thermal scanning at Dhaka airport. Those who returned from Chennai had medical certificates stating they were free of Covid-19. Despite this, airport authorities have asked them to do a home quarantine.
