Robi and the ICT Division’s a2i program have jointly established a contest named “Idea for goodness,” with the aim of allowing the youth of the country to share innovative ideas on how to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ideas can be based on medical solutions, technological innovations, social mobilization or anything else that will benefit the people of the country during the pandemic situation, according to a press release.
In addition to Robi and a2i, UNDP, the ICT Division’s Startup Bangladesh, Bangladesh Scouts, Bangladesh Brand Forum, iLab, Dhaka Tribune, Bangla Tribune, Samakal and Colours FM radio are partners in the initiative.
Unlike typical idea contests, those who submit and contribute to the winning idea will get the opportunity to work with a2i and Robi officials to implement it and make a difference in the fight against coronavirus.
Furthermore, the winners of the competition will receive certificates and other prizes. The winners’ contribution will also be highlighted through various government channels as well as in the media.
The idea submission process is completely digital. Applicants just have to record a three minute video and then post it on Facebook, YouTube or Twitter with the hashtags # Ideaforgoodness, #Robi and #a2i. The video must be made public, so that it can be viewed by all audiences and authorities.
The contest will include three rounds, with each round lasting 7 days from the date of announcement. Details will be available on the Robi Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RobiFanz/) as well as on the Robi website (https://www.robi.com.bd/en/personal/brand/stay-home-idea-challenge).
Participants then have to submit the link, along with names and contact numbers through the Robi messenger chatbot under the “Idea for goodness” tab.
Anyone aged 18-35 using any mobile operator’s service can participate in the campaign.
The first round started from 17 April and will end on 23rd April, the second round will open from 26th April and end on 2nd May and the third round will start from 4th May and continue till 10th May. Dates may be subject to change.
Participants will be held responsible for any claims in relation to their ideas, and, any plagiarizing will lead to automatic disqualification from the competition.
The digital engagement on the participants’ social media post will carry 40% of the scoring and the other 60% will be decided by a panel of expert judges. Judging criteria includes relevance, ease of implementation, originality, impact and digital integration.
Robi Managing Director and CEO Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said: “Our youth has never failed us in the moments of national crisis.
