Coronavirus cases are increasing everyday in Narayanganj.
There were 301 infected cases and 24 confirmed deaths till Saturday morning.
Narayanganj District Health Department confirmed the matter.
There were 40 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. A total of nine patients have recovered till now.
The most affected were inthe Narayanganj City Corporation, where 218 were affected and 13 died of the Covid-19.
On Thursday, the Heath Directorate gave US Bangla Medical College Hospital in Rupganj the permission to test patients for coronavirus.
The samples were collected by the city corporation and the health department. A total of 706 samples were collected, of which 261 were collected in the last 24 hours.
A 50-bed isolation unit has been setup at Khanpur300-bed Hospital. A PCR lab is also in the process of setting up there.
Two other testing centres have also been setup at Narayanganj High School and ShiddhirganjAdamjee School, which are being operated by an NGO called JNG.
Meanwhile, Fatullah’sPuja Celebration Committee general secretary Arun Chandra Das died at the Kurmitola General Hospital, Dhaka while undergoing treatment.
His wife and son are also infected with Covid-19 and are admitted at the hospital.
A week ago three of them were admitted in the hospital.
