Fifteen areas have reported 49% of the total coronavirus cases reported in Dhaka City.
As of Tuesday, Bangladesh has reported 1,012 cases with 456 of them in Dhaka.
An analysis by the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), compiled till Tuesday, provided a detailed picture of 938 cases out of the total 1,012 infections.
Out of this 938 cases which went for further analysis, 81% cases were from Dhaka city and districts under Dhaka division -- 820 cases were reported from this region.
Dhaka, as a city alone, hosts over 45% of the cases which were reported from 92 areas of the capital.
Out of those 92 areas, fifteen areas have reported at least 10 or more cases.
Old Dhaka’s Wari area tops the list with 25 cases followed by Mirpur’s Tolarbag and Jatrabari, both reporting 19 cases.
Lalbagh reported 18 cases while Mohammadpur and Uttara reported 17 cases each.
The other areas with high number of cases are Dhanmondi, Tejgaon, Basabo, Gendaria, Mirpur-11, Babu Bazar, Mirpur-12, Green Road, and Moghbazar.
