Observing the various irregularities in distributing relief material provided by the government during this crisis period, the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) has decided that officials of the district offices of ACC will oversee the relief distribution works of the deputy commissioners.
ACC has taken the decision after coming to know about the irregularities through mass media as well as their own investigators.
They assured that there will be no scope of corruption in the social welfare programs taken up by the government.
The commission published this information on their verified Facebook page, where they also mentioned if anyone earns unlawfully in the process of distributing relief materials, they will be brought under the law.
Iqbal Mahmood, chairman of ACC said: “All the divisional offices and the district offices of ACC have been given instructions regarding the issue. The commission will not allow corruption in any social welfare programs of the government during this crisis period.”
“As I have said before, according to the constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh there is no one can enjoying unlawful income. ACC will not allow it.”
