Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has extended by one month its ongoing programme of providing free primary healthcare services and medicines at the residents’ doorstep.
DSCC Public Relations Officer Uttam Kumar Roy confirmed the matter to media, stating that the programme has been extended considering requests from the city dwellers and the chilly weather of winter.
“The second phase of the programme ended on December 26. However, showing respect to the requests of the people, DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon has extended the free healthcare services programme till January 27,” he added.
DSCC residents can avail free medical services by dialing the hotline 09611000999.
So far, the call centre has received 38,988 calls for healthcare services, while 9,208 houses of the residents were visited by healthcare professionals free of cost to provide the service.This article was first published on Bangla Tribune
