The government has allocated portfolios to 10 advisers under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
A gazette notification was issued in this regard by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday.
The notification stated that the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman assigned the responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and the Rules of Business.
Of the 10 advisers, five have been granted the status of full ministers, while the remaining five have been given the rank of state ministers.
Among those with the status of full ministers, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed have been appointed as Political Advisers. Md Ismail Jabiullah has been designated as Adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir has been entrusted with the Ministry of Finance as well as the Ministry of Planning.
On the other hand, among the advisors with the status of state ministers, Humayun Kabir has been assigned to Foreign affairs, Disaster Management and Relief, and the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry; Brigadier General (Retd.) Shamsul Islam to the Ministry of Defence; Zahed Ur Rahman to Policy and Strategy; Mahadi Amin to the Ministries of Education, Primary and Mass Education, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and Labour and Employment; and Rehan Asif Asad to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Science and Technology.
The 10 advisers were appointed following the swearing-in of the new Cabinet led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on February 17. On the same day, BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman took the oath of office as Prime Minister alongside 25 full ministers and 24 state ministers.
