Chief adviser calls for immediate assessment of earthquake damage

According to a post on the official Facebook page, the government is taking every necessary step while placing public safety first

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that the recent incidents of intense earthquakes felt across the country are being closely monitored.

He said that all relevant departments have been instructed to immediately move to the field and assess possible damages.

This information was conveyed in a post titled “Message from the chief adviser” published shortly before 1pm on Friday, on the chief adviser’s official Facebook page.

According to the Facebook post, the government is aware of the public concern and anxiety caused by the earthquakes felt in various parts of the country.

The situation is being monitored with utmost attention and all concerned departments have been directed to promptly begin field operations to evaluate any potential damage.

The post further said that the government is taking all necessary measures, giving top priority to public safety. Reports of damage being received from Dhaka and other areas are being addressed promptly by Fire Service personnel.

The public has been urged not to pay attention to any rumors or misinformation.

Further instructions will be communicated, if necessary, through government hotlines and official channels.

The post affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
