A 152-member Integrated Hajj Medical Team, comprising doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and OT or lab assistants, has been formed to provide healthcare services to Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims this year.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs recently issued an official order regarding the formation of this medical team.
According to the order, the team members will be responsible for ensuring round-the-clock medical services for Hajj pilgrims. However, as per the Saudi government’s regulations, they will not be allowed to perform Hajj.
Additionally, the order says that no team member will be allowed to bring or keep their spouse, children, or relatives with them while on duty.
Any negligence in duty, violation of discipline, or misconduct will lead to departmental action under the Government Service Act, 2018, as per the order.
The Integrated Hajj Medical Team consists of:
69 doctors
44 nurses
24 pharmacists
15 OT or lab assistants
Last year, the team had 189 members.
The Hajj is expected to take place on June 5, depending on the sighting of the moon.
