Tarique Rahman on Saturday inaugurated the government’s honorarium allowance program for imams and muezzins at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
The inauguration ceremony, held at 10am, was chaired by Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad. Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was also present at the event.
Alongside imams and muezzins, the prime minister also launched the honorarium program for khadems, priests, sebayets, and the heads and vice-heads of Buddhist viharas.
According to the government’s commitment, each beneficiary will receive an honorarium allowance of Tk5,000.
