The Home Ministry issued a notification on Tuesday announcing the transfer and new postings of 18 police officers, including the head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Matiur Rahman Sheikh.
He has been transferred to the Police Headquarters, along with Sarda Police Academy Principal Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan and Anti-Terrorism Unit Chief Khondaker Rafiqul Islam.
All three officers hold the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP), with Rafiqul Islam currently serving as Acting Additional IGP.
Among the other transferred officers, Highway Police DIG Rezaul Karim has been moved to the Police Headquarters, while Police Headquarters DIG Shoaib Riaz Alam has been posted to Sarada Police Academy. Mymensingh Range DIG Ashrafur Rahman has been reassigned to the Police Headquarters, and Police Headquarters DIG Ataul Kibria has been transferred to Mymensingh Range. Industrial Unit Police DIG Ashrafuzzaman will now serve as Commandant of Rangpur Police Training Center, while CID DIG Harun Ur Rashid Hazari has been posted to the Industrial Zone Police. Sarada Police Academy DIG Rakhfar Sultana Khanam has been transferred to the Highway Police.
In other key changes, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saifuddin Shaheen has been posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Cox’s Bazar, while SP Tofail Ahmed from the Khulna Range DIG Office has been reassigned as SP of Sunamganj. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Uttara Division DC Rawnak Jahan has been posted as SP of Jessore district, and DMP DC Abul Fazal Mohammad Tariq Hossain Khan has been transferred as SP of Nilphamari.
Meanwhile, Jessore district SP Ziauddin Ahmed, Sunamganj SP AFM Anwar Hossain Khan, Cox’s Bazar SP Muhammad Rahmat Ullah, and Nilphamari district SP Mohammad Morshed Alam have been attached to the Police Headquarters.
This reshuffle is part of the ongoing administrative adjustments within the police force.
