Highly appreciating the decades of dedicated service of Anjuman Mufidul Islam to humanity, Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Monday emphasized building a humane society where there will be no words like “unclaimed dead bodies.”

“It is a unique institution on many fronts. Let us build a society free from anything like unclaimed dead bodies,” Yunus said, expressing his doubt whether there is any other institution in this subcontinent which has survived for a very long period with its highly notable services to society.

The chief adviser made the remarks before having iftar with the boys and girls of a home run by Anjuman Mufidul Islam.

The event was held at the newly constructed multi-storey Anjuman JR Tower, which the chief adviser formally inaugurated.

Describing Anjuman Mufidul Islam’s diversified services, Yunus said they are proud of the people who run this institution.

He said it is a big opportunity for him to come and know this organization very well that he used to hear about from his childhood.

"It is a big opportunity for me. I truly feel this. Today, I have seen the institution in my own eyes," he said, mentioning the highly commendable role it played during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yunus said they feel proud of having such an organization in Bangladesh and hoped that its programs will be further expanded.

Anjuman Mufidul Islam is a Bangladeshi welfare organization specially designed to enrich the livelihood of orphans and the distressed, serving the poorest of the poor for decades.

Anjuman Mufidul Islam President Mufleh R Osmany said the current market value of the land is Tk200 crore, adding that around Tk90 crore was spent to construct the building.

He said they received Tk26 crore from the government, which he sees as a big support in addition to donations received from various donors.

“May Allah accept their donations!”

Food and Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder appreciated the president of the organisation for dealing with things prudently after facing some problems after the political changeover.

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed said it is a very old organization and he is impressed by their dedicated services.

“Now everyone knows Anjuman Mufidul Islam. I am delighted to be here with the chief adviser.”
