The name of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 has been changed and will now be known as Bangladesh Satellite-1.
The government issued a notification on Monday regarding this change.
The notification signed by Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said: “The proposal to rename Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (BS-1) to Bangladesh Satellite-1 (BS-1) has been approved by the chief adviser. Therefore, you are requested to take the necessary subsequent actions accordingly.”
