The Foreign Affairs Committee has recommended increasing efficiency in recruitment, transfers, and disciplinary matters within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Monday, the first meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee was held at the ministry, where Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain discussed internal matters with three other advisers.
A five-member Foreign Affairs Committee was formed under the leadership of the foreign affairs adviser to oversee government functions following the July-August uprising.
Other members of the committee include Industry Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam, the Chief Adviser’s High Representative for Rohingya Affairs Khalilur Rahman, and the Foreign Secretary.
The government issued a notification on January 8 regarding its formation.
The committee’s mandate is to provide recommendations on the appointment, transfer, and disciplinary actions of officials at the rank of Director General and above.
When asked about Monday’s meeting, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain told media: “This is an internal matter. We discussed various issues.”
