Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus will soon visit secret detention centres run by security forces, known as "Aynaghor."
Members of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances met Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Sunday where this was disclosed, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed.
During the meeting, commission members informed the chief adviser about the progress of investigations into incidents of enforced disappearances and requested him to visit the detention centres.
They said such a visit would reassure and comfort the victims of enforced disappearances.
The commission also shared descriptions of several disappearance cases with the chief adviser, including incidents involving a six-year-old child uncovered during their investigations.
In response, Yunus expressed his concern, saying: "The incidents revealed in your investigation are chilling. I will visit Aynaghor soon."
