If political parties do not demand significant reforms, the election will be held in December this year, according to the chief adviser's Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam.
Shafiqul Alam shared these remarks with journalists on Tuesday at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB).
He said that if extensive reforms are desired, the government would need an additional six months, extending the timeline to June 2026.
Highlighting the interim government's roadmap, the press secretary said that it has successfully created a sense of public aspiration across the country.
He further said that the current reserves stand at $22 billion, surpassing the expected $20 billion based on the previous economic momentum.
“This shows we are on the path to recovery,” he added.
