Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has said he and the advisers are fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve the people of Bangladesh.

He made the comment at the 61st meeting of the Advisory Council, which was held on Sunday at the Chief Adviser’s Office.

The new cabinet is scheduled to be sworn in on Tuesday, making this the final meeting of the interim government’s Advisory Council.

The information was shared at an afternoon briefing by the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam.

The press secretary said that Members of Parliament would take their oath at around 10:00 am on February 17 at the National Parliament. Later that day, at around 4:00 pm, the incoming Prime Minister and members of the cabinet will be sworn in at the South Plaza of the National Parliament.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser has informed that all foreign ministers of SAARC member states have been invited. At the same time, the Foreign Minister of Qatar has also been invited.

The Press Secretary added, “This is the first time such a ceremony will be held at the South Plaza. A meeting is scheduled today with a three-member committee from the BNP to discuss how the event will be conducted smoothly.”

He further said that the Chief Adviser delivered the final remarks at the cabinet meeting and thanked his colleagues.

Responding to reports about advisers leaving the country, the Press Secretary said, “Faiz Ahmed has explained on his verified Facebook account why he resigned. I have nothing further to add. Those advisers who will be present on the day of the oath will attend. On that day, they will travel in official flag-bearing vehicles. After the swearing-in ceremony, the same vehicles will take them home, although the flags will no longer be displayed. They are all in the country. They are proud sons of the nation and will continue to give their utmost efforts to advance the country further.”
