Applications for the 47th BCS are set to begin from Sunday.
The online application process will commence at 10am and continue until 11:59pm on January 30.
Following an earlier postponement, the new application dates have been announced by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
This year’s application process comes with significant changes. According to PSC sources, starting with the 47th BCS, both the application fee and the marks allocated for the viva voce (oral examination) have been reduced.
The viva marks have been cut from 200 to 100, while the application fee has been reduced from Tk700 to Tk200. For candidates belonging to ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and those identifying as third gender, the application fee has been set at Tk50.
The new notification was issued by the PSC last Thursday. As per the notification, applications for this BCS will begin on December 29 and continue until 30 January next year.
For the first time, the age limit for applicants has been extended to 32 years.
According to the notification, the 47th BCS will recruit candidates for 3,487 cadre positions and 201 non-cadre positions, totalling 3,688 appointments. Several new positions have been added this year.
To be eligible for this BCS, candidates must be between 21 and 32 years old as of November 1, 2024. Applications from candidates outside this age range will not be accepted.
