Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (rtd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain said on Tuesday that ongoing worker grievances at various locations across the country will be resolved through logical measures.
He said this while addressing a view-exchange meeting with ministry officials here.
Urging workers to avoid creating public disruptions and to return to their respective workplaces, Sakhawat said: "Trust us. We understand your hardships, and you will certainly receive what you are owed."
He also urged factory owners to pay workers’ dues properly, adding: "The dues of workers must be paid. Your factory operates due to their tireless efforts."
The adviser said that the minimum wages announced by the government should be implemented in all factories, warning that legal action would be taken against anyone failing to adhere to the wage board requirements.
Sakhawat further said that an administrator would be appointed if any issues with factory ownership were identified.
The adviser instructed the relevant authority to form a committee on a cluster basis to investigate and resolve the causes of labor dissatisfaction.
He said that this committee would maintain continuous monitoring of the factory owners.
He urged everyone to work transparently and with integrity for the welfare of the workers and in the national interest.
The ministry’s secretary, AHM Shafiquzzaman, along with other senior officials, was also present at the meeting.
