The government has announced new rental rates for staying at government circuit houses in various districts of the country.
This was revealed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday.
According to the notification, signed by Lubna Farzana, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Budget and Monitoring Branch, cities such as Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Barisal, Rangpur, Sylhet, Narayanganj, Mymensingh, Cox's Bazar, and Gazipur have been designated as "expensive cities."
The rental rate for an air-conditioned single room at circuit houses in these cities for government officials and retired officers is set at Tk200 per day for stays of one to three days.
In other cities, the rate for a single room is Tk150 per day.
For a two-bed air-conditioned room, the new daily rental rate is set at Tk250 for stays of one to a maximum of three days in expensive cities, while in other cities, it is fixed at Tk200.
For stays of four to seven days or more in expensive cities, the rental rate for an air-conditioned single room at the circuit house is Tk250, while in other cities, it remains at Tk200.
If the stay exceeds seven days, the rate for an air-conditioned single room in expensive cities is Tk750, and in other cities, it is Tk600.
For two-bed rooms, the rate for four to seven days in expensive cities is Tk450 and Tk350 in other cities.
For stays exceeding seven days, the rate for two-bed rooms in expensive cities is Tk1000 and Tk800 in other cities.
For private individuals, the rental rate for a single air-conditioned room at circuit houses in all cities will be Tk1500, while for a two-bed air-conditioned room, the rate will be Tk1800.
This is the first increase in circuit house rental rates by the government since 2012.
