Disaster Management and Relief State Minister Md Mohibbur Rahman has said the deputy commissioners of flood-affected districts have confirmed that they have sufficient relief materials in stock.
The state minister made the statement on Sunday during an inter-ministerial meeting on the country's flood situation at the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief's conference room in the Secretariat.
The state minister said that so far, 21,700 tons of rice, Tk5.47crore in cash, 65,500 packets of dry and other food, Tk4,000,000 for cattle feed, and Tk4,000,000 for baby food have been allocated in 18 districts to provide necessary assistance to the flood-affected areas.
Additionally, 2,500 packets of dry and other food have been allocated for the parliamentary constituencies of Sylhet-3, Sunamganj-1, and Moulvibazar-2, he added.
He emphasized that there is no reason for anyone to not receive relief. “If we receive any such information, we will take immediate action. Additionally, calling 999 will also ensure the delivery of food supplies. So far, there is no shortage anywhere.”
"A total of 619 medical teams have been formed to provide treatment to the flood victims. During the tenure of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government, not a single person will suffer and live a substandard life. The amount of allocation will be increased considering the needs and requirements of the people," said the state minister.
