Voting at the two Sylhet City Corporation polling stations suspended on Monday for irregularities will be held on August 11, the Election Commission decided on Wednesday.
A letter signed by Election Commission Joint Secretary Farhad Ahmad Khan was sent to Sylhet Returning Officer Md Alimuzzaman on the same day, instructing him to make the necessary arrangements, reported UNB.

The re-election will be held at Gazi Burhanuddin Garam Dewan Government Primary School, which has 2,221 registered voters, and Hobinandi Government Primary School centres, which has 2,566 voters, the letter further said.
The Sylhet City Corporation election, along with polls in Rajshahi and Barisal, was held on Monday. While poll results in Rajshahi and Barisal were declared, the announcement of results was postponed in Sylhet as the number of votes in the two suspended polling centres combined stands higher than the difference between the two leading mayoral candidates' tallies.

BNP candidate Ariful Haque Chowdhury has taken a lead in Sylhet by bagging 90,496 votes in 132 centres, which is 4,626 higher than Awami League candidate Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran’s 85,870 votes in 130 centres.
Returning Officer Md Alimuzzaman announced the results of 132 centres out of 134 at Abul Maal Abdul Muhith Sports Complex in Sylhet on late Monday night.
