The Bangladesh government is now planning to go all out to pressure Mamata Banerjee so that it becomes easier to get access to river Teesta's water, claimed a report of Times of India.
According to the report, Bangladesh has made the plan following Jamaat-e-Islami's link found in the Bardhaman blast.
"Indian soil being used to harbour Bangladeshi terrorists - especially when Narendra Modi's policy is to improve relations with Bangladesh - is a major agenda for the neighbouring country," the TOI report said.
It also expressed apprehension that the 'Jamaat link' issue may halt the proposed increased frequency of travel of the Moitree Express as well as the proposed bus route to Tripura from Kolkata via Bangladesh.
The Teesta water agreement has been put on hold after the Trinamool’s strong opposition, which has expressed fears that the treaty could spell disaster for north Bengal.
In September 2011, Mamata had embarrassed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by pulling herself out of a delegation visiting Bangladesh to settle the water sharing agreement. Her decision prompted India to drop the issue from the agenda.
The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, however, denied having any link with the Bardhaman blast or having any contact with the Jamaat-e-Mujahideen Bangladesh on its website on Saturday.
