Sir Alasdair MacDonald, ex head teacher of Morpeth secondary school in Tower Hamlets, London and governor (honorary) of Regent College, Dhaka, arrived in the capital yesterday to help improve the quality of education in Bangladesh.
He will conduct a series of training sessions with staff and students of Regent College during his weeklong visit.
The main focus of Sir Alasdair’s talks with educational leaders will be “Leadership for Learning.” His presentations will centre on innovations and method currently being used to create and develop effective learning institutions.
Besides this, he will also speak at a British Council event and address all the head teachers and senior staff of Dhaka’s International Schools Association.
Sir Alasdair Macdonald, former headmaster of Morpeth School in London, is renowned for turning a struggling comprehensive school in the east end of London into one of the UK’s highest performing schools within 19 years.
