7he government has appointed Mohammad Abdul Muhith as Bangladesh’s new high commissioner to UK, according to a notification issued Monday.
Muhith was serving as rector of the Foreign Service Academy. His remaining tenure in that post has been canceled, and he has been appointed as high commissioner on a two-year contract with grade 1 status.
According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, Muhith’s unused post-retirement leave and related benefits will remain suspended for the duration of his appointment.
The notification said his appointment is subject to the condition that he relinquish any other profession, business, or employment with government, semi-government or private institutions and organizations.
His two-year tenure will begin from the date he assumes office.
Other terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined through a formal contract, the notification said.
