Following the one-on-one talks, the two leaders led a delegation-level meeting, where they reviewed the overall state of bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Key issues discussed included the reopening of Malaysia’s labour market for Bangladeshi workers, the regularisation of undocumented Bangladeshi nationals and renewal of their work permits, greater market access for Bangladeshi mangoes, fruits and vegetables in Malaysia, Bangladesh’s application to become an Asean Sectoral Dialogue Partner, the country’s inclusion in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, the Rohingya crisis, and cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral forums.
