The American International University-Bangladesh hosted a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of France in Bangladesh on Tuesday, to promote higher education opportunities in France.
The delegation was led by HE Mr Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, ambassador of France to Bangladesh, accompanied by Mr Baptiste Lebret, cultural attaché, and Ms Syeda Naasiba Hossain, country head of Campus France Bangladesh.
During the visit, the ambassador held a courtesy meeting with Mr Ishtiaque Abedin, founder member, Board of Trustees, AIUB; Prof Dr Saiful Islam, vice-chancellor; Prof Dr Md Abdur Rahman, pro vice-chancellor; Group Captain (Retd) Dr Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, registrar; and Prof Dr Manzur H Khan, proctor. The delegation also engaged in interactive discussions with students and faculty and visited the university’s campus. A “Higher Education in France” informative session was conducted by Ms Syeda Naasiba Hossain, country head of Campus France Bangladesh. The session focused on higher education opportunities in France, the French education system and its global appeal, tuition fees, scholarships, living costs, and a diverse range of academic programs.
In his remarks, Ambassador HE Mr Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet underscored France’s strong commitment to fostering international academic collaboration. The visit marked another significant step in strengthening educational ties between Bangladesh and France, opening new avenues for academic exchange and collaboration between institutions.
