Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Bangladesh’s 55th Independence Day.
In his message, Xi said China and Bangladesh are good neighbors, friends and partners. He noted that the two countries have always treated each other with mutual respect and equality, cooperated for mutual benefit, and set a model for state-to-state relations.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral ties and is ready to work with Shahabuddin to deepen political trust, carry forward traditional friendship, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and expand exchanges across various fields, promoting the continued development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Also on Thursday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang sent a congratulatory message to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Foreign Minister Wang Yi also extended his greetings to his Bangladeshi counterpart, Khalilur Rahman.
