Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma has confirmed that efforts are underway to resume Indian tourist visa for Bangladeshi citizens.
He made the remarks on Monday following a meeting with Prime Minister’s Economic Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir at the Secretariat.
Responding to questions from journalists, Verma said that the process to reopen tourist visa services is ongoing, and the exact date for resumption will be announced once finalized.
Earlier this month, he had indicated that visa services between the two countries would be restored soon.
On the agenda of Monday’s meeting, Verma noted that discussions centered on ongoing development projects in Bangladesh and potential areas for future cooperation. The talks also covered electricity and energy connectivity between India and Bangladesh.
