As the return Hajj flights are set to conclude on Thursday, a total of 82,416 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned home after performing the holy Hajj in 2025.
According to the Hajj Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, among the returning pilgrims, 5,087 returned under government management and 77,329 under private management.
Three airlines—Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia, and Flynas—were involved in transporting the pilgrims. Of them, Biman Bangladesh Airlines brought back 36,833 pilgrims, Saudia carried 27,081, Flynas transported 12,169, and other airlines returned 6,333 pilgrims.
So far, a total of 215 return Hajj flights have been operated. Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 106 flights, Saudia 75 flights, and Flynas 34 flights.
During this year's Hajj, a total of 44 Bangladeshi pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia. Among them, 33 were men and 11 were women. According to the Hajj Office bulletin, causes of death included age-related complications and illness.
This year, a total of 87,157 Bangladeshi pilgrims participated in Hajj. The Hajj journey began on April 29, with the last outbound flight departing for Saudi Arabia on May 31. Hajj was observed on June 5, and the return flights conclude on Thursday.
