Prof Yunus arrives in Zurich to join WEF

During his visit, the chief adviser is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with various foreign dignitaries

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus arrived in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

An Emirates Airline flight carrying Prof Yunus and his entourage landed at Zurich International Airport at approximately 12:27pm (local time).

Tareq Md Ariful Islam, Bangladesh's permanent representative in Geneva, welcomed the chief adviser at the airport.

During his visit, the chief adviser is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, King Philippe of Belgium, and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

Additionally, he will meet Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank; Sir Nick Clegg, President of Global Affairs at Meta; Dr Agnes Callamard, Secretary-General of Amnesty International; and Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
