Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain has said that contacts have been made with all major countries including the United States after taking charge of the interim government.
He was replying to a question at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday afternoon.
"We have sought everyone's cooperation to achieve the goal of the revolution and the change. We have received their assurance," he said.
Touhid Hossain praised the media, saying: "We haven't seen the role of the media for a long time. Now we are finally seeing it."
"The media is playing the role it should have played even before this government took office. Please continue to maintain this role and support," he said.
On the question of sending BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment, the foreign affairs adviser, however, asked the media to talk to the health adviser in this regard.
Earlier, on Monday the adviser briefed the Dhaka-based diplomats on the formation of the new government and its objectives following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5.
