An aircraft carrying Chilean President Gabriel Boric and his entourage made a brief stopover at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for refuelling in the early hours of Thursday on the way back to Santiago from Beijing.
Boric was returning home after attending the Belt and Road summit in the Chinese capital.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen were there at the airport.
An aide to the information minister told Dhaka Tribune that the president had not disembarked from the aircraft.
But his entourage, which comprised several ministers, got off the place and met the information minister.
The information minister also posted a photo with the president's entourage on his Facebook page.
"With Chili’s [sic] information minister and spokesperson of the Chili’s government Mrs Camila and minister for agriculture, Transportation & others at Dhaka international airport tonight. They had stop over in Dhaka on their return to Chili from China," he wrote.
