Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought British cooperation for the development of Bangladesh's railway sector.
Bangladesh will be happy to see British cooperation for the development of Bangladesh's railway sector, the prime minister's press secretary, Ihsanul Karim, quoted her as saying on Thursday.
The premier made the calls for cooperation when former British prime minister and Institute for Global Change Executive Chairman Tony Blair paid a courtesy call on her at her official residence, Ganabhaban.
Blair praised Bangladesh's socioeconomic and infrastructure development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh is expected to gain further momentum in its overall development in the coming days, he said.
Sheikh Hasina said her government has a target to transform Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041.
To this end, the prime minister said, her government has attached its topmost priority to the development of information and communication technology (ICT). "We are focusing on the development of ICT.”
