A Bangladeshi expatriate in Saudi Arabia was killed in a road accident on Friday morning. The accident took place in Damdam, the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
The deceased has been identified as Rajab Ali, 44, a resident of Lakshmipur village of Chargualini union of Islampur upazila of Jamalpur.
Sumon Mia, the younger brother of the deceased and a Saudi expatriate, said his brother has been working as a cleaning worker at Al Hajia Company for 6 years.
“Like every day, when he was leaving for work on Friday morning, he was hit by a speeding car coming from behind. He died on spot,” said Sumon.
Confirming the news, Chargualini Union Parishad Chairman Md Shahidullah said Rajab Ali was supposed to come home next month.
“All the people in our village are saddened to hear the news of his death,” he said.
Ali had an elderly mother, wife, an 8-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter, he added.
