President M Abdul Hamid on Wednesday congratulated Emmanuel Macron on being re-elected as the president of France.
In a congratulatory message, President Hamid said Macron's re-election has testified to the trust and confidence the French people have reposed in his leadership and his all-inclusive projects and commitments for their better future.
"I hope, under your stewardship, France will continue a leading role in ensuring global peace, prosperity and security," he said.

He said Bangladesh and France enjoy excellent bilateral relations which are rooted in shared values, democracy, equality and fraternity.
"We also recall the moral and material support of the French people during our Liberation War in 1971. Since our independence, our relations have grown over the years and expanded in many areas of co-operation through meaningful engagement," he said.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina greeted Macron in a message. "The election, as you said, was a referendum for the European Union, secularism, and fraternity."
Sheikh Hasina told Macron that she firmly believes the French people have given him the mandate to carry on with his values and vision.
